Now we are all in the mood for a celebration - the weeks we've been counting down to have a few days off, are finally here. It's time to eat drink, and be merry - if you're into that kinda thing.
Christmas, and the impending New Year Parties always scream by in a whirl-wind. Prepared for and thought about for weeks before hand, it can all fly by in a blur, - it's easy to be left standing in its dust wandering aimlessly with no direction for the days beyond January first.
Having worked in the retail industry for over a decade, this time of year has always meant long hours, breaking up family arguments in the middle of department stores, and trying desperately to maintain a positive happy vibe when you really just want to scream at the customers - there is no such thing as a perfect Christmas so just get over yourself and go home to be with your children!!!
Years of being jaded, has lead me to do anything to avoid getting caught up in the chaos, and instead use the energy of excitement in the air as an opportunity to focus toward the new year, and to be productive in the areas of my life that are especially important to me.
Now it's the end of December, it's time to look back on everything the last 12 months has given me, and set new goals for the approaching year. Not an uncommon practise - and widely blogged about by many 'popular' bloggers, this is my second year of this practise, and I find it more beneficial every time.
Did I get my Mojo back? Annual Review.
So, what exactly is the point of this Annual Review - well, for me it is an opportunity to look at what worked & what didn't, in the past year - and then to align my path for the oncoming 12 months.
2013 was the 'Year of Getting my Mojo Back' - and I'm pleased to say that although a tough year - all things considered, it was very successful on a personal growth front. I enjoy giving a theme to my year, as it becomes easy to trigger my focus on what I want to achieve, simply by reminding myself of what my year represents.
Which brings me to 2014.
The Year of Living Amazingly.
For those of you who know me, or who have been following the blog for a while, you will know that there are some big things happening in this new year. I want to solidify this by doing something much bigger than I ever expected.
I want to challenge all the things that I've ever believed and do everything within my power (and even outside of my perceived power) to dramatically change my world this year. I want to grasp all opportunities that make my heart sing, and that feel right for me, so that I have ownership of my life, ownership of my happiness, and most importantly ownership of my success.
I have set myself some BSG (Big Scary Goals) that I'm going to achieve - and with 12 months of focus, I can achieve them. I'm going to dare to be different, dare to bust all boundaries, and dare to un-apologetically be absolutely goddamned amazing.
& I want you to join me...
Next week on the blog, I will share with you the exact formula I use for completing my annual review, so you too - in the positive energy of the new moon on 1st January, can set your tone for 2014.
I'll be making some upgrades to the website before this date - so keep your eye out for the integration of our BSG as you are out and around the site.
I encourage you to take a breather over the next few days, and let the craziness of Christmas pass, and allow the year to end on a relaxing note. There is nothing that now needs to be rushed at this point! Put out into the universe the gentle request for inspiration for your Annual Review, and let the ideas begin to bubble away in your subconsciousness.
2014 will be massive!
