New Year Resolutions are something I have a love/hate relationship with.
Many times I set off on the 1st of January for a run, with the intention to 'get super fit this year', and end up hobbling around on my bad knee after about 3 weeks, back at the osteo being told I shouldn't be running...
But then again, I've also had big success - giving up alcohol for 12 months when I was 19 - going for 12 months without a drink meant my Friday & Saturday nights were cheap, and my weekends not quite so consumed by beer-goggle remorse. (Okay, I had one drink, but mistaking my grandparents home-brewed rhubarb wine for soft drink is an easy mistake to make when it's in an unlabelled bottle...)
This year I hope to take a different approach to the whole goal-setting thing, and actually set myself up for success from the start.
I guess the reality is, many of us fall into the mindset of - "It's a New Year, I'm going to change my life from this day forward!" - but severe change can be hard to maintain if you do not have the right mind set, or the cheer squad to support you.
There are 3 important things to keep in mind when setting your goals for 2014:
Hitting Big Scary Goals is not about trying to climb Mount Everest on your first hiking trip, it is about taking the initial step to climb Chicken Run at Devil's Peak in South Australia. One step, two step, three step...
There are many different formulas to tackle BSG's, and my New Year gift to you - is the Year of Living Amazingly (YOLA) Project - which you can start working on today. I encourage you to take the time to look forward into 2014, and make a plan to hit the goals you want to achieve through step by step action.
If you send me your completed YOLA Workbook, I will be happy to give you a free 30-45 minute mentoring session to help you trouble shoot and brainstorm any of your plans to assist you with the process.

If you love it, please forward this link to anyone you think may benefit from using it, and let me know on Facebook!!
PS HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! It's gonna be fabulous...
